About Annie

I’m a researcher and strategist focused on community-centered systems change.

My work increasingly centers on school gardens, public spaces, and outdoor environments that support healthier, more connected communities. I’m interested in how these places shape well-being and belonging — especially for those most impacted by climate change — and how they bring people together to scale community-rooted solutions.

Before moving toward this work, I supported nonprofits, foundations, and public agencies in navigating complex social issues. Working across education, early learning, public health, housing, and sustainability, I became known as a bridge builder and dot connector. I listened across perspectives, built trust, and helped teams develop and pursue a shared direction. My training in journalism taught me how to ask thoughtful questions and look for the deeper story.

For me, strategy is grounded in listening. It means understanding people’s experiences, identifying themes and tensions, and helping organizations meet community needs that might at first be unseen. I am driven to learn about, share, and be a part of the stories where everyday people transform our shared spaces into hubs for community resilience. Whether they are gardens, green schoolyards, parks or trails, these projects are most meaningful when they are led by the community.
